  • I’ve just completed the course at Waterloo and loved every minute of it. The course is actually life changing! I’ve been chronically ill but this course gives you tools to be able to cope better with stress, anxiety and pain. I’d like to start all over again and just go weekly for the rest of my life. Thanks Paul!

  • Just completed a 6 week course at The Dove Centre in Formby. The course was very professionally led and the handouts were extremely helpful. I have really experienced a difference in my outlook. For me it is a way of stepping off the conveyor belt of modern life but like anything worthwhile you have to work at it!

  • I’ve just completed the six week course at The Florrie (Florence Institute) in Liverpool. I found the course very helpful indeed. My anxiety levels have noticeably dropped since I’ve been practising mindfulness. It has enabled me to be far more aware of my surroundings and to feel more positive about myself and others. Paul is such a friendly person, who immediately makes you feel comfortable and reassures you. The group conversations are great at helping you understand that you are not alone. I’ll certainly keep up the practice and look forward to attending the refresher sessions.

  • I attended the six week course in Southport, facilitated by Debbie. Her gentle approach ensured that learning about mindfulness was both informative and enjoyable. It also helped that the others in the group were all friendly and supportive of each other. I look forward each month to attending the refresher classes because as well as the practice, Debbie helps us to share our experiences and ideas with the group. Recently I have had to undergo several medical tests, mindful breathing techniques helped me prepare for and get through them successfully. Thank you for your help Debbie, I highly recommend the course to everyone interested in learning about mindfulness and applying it to their daily lives.

  • I recently completed the six week course in Crosby and enjoyed every second. Paul, the facilitator, was highly experienced and with his calm, reassuring nature made the class feel at ease. His all-round knowledge of the subject and ability to share this knowledge effectively has benefitted me immensely. Due to undertaking the course, and taking time daily to practice the meditations, my stress and anxiety levels have reduced significantly. I would highly recommend this course and look forward to attending refresher classes.

  • I recently attended the mindfulness course with Paul. The course was over 6 sessions. After the first week I had found it really hard to put what I’d learnt in to practice, but with the ongoing support and sharing of experiences with the group I was able to progress towards now using mindfulness in everyday life. With completing the course in full I feel it has taught me a new technique and this has really helped still my thoughts and reduce anxiety. I would highly recommend Paul and Mindfulness Merseyside.

  • The 6 week course at The Florrie was fantastic and has enabled me to change my mindset. An hour a week isn’t that long and the techniques Paul shared with us were clearly explained and easy to use in everyday life. I’m already looking forward to attending the refresher sessions. I cannot recommend the course highly enough and truly think that it will benefit everyone.

  • I have just finished my six week course at Wirral Multicultural Centre in Birkenhead and would highly recommend it. Each week we focused on a different aspect of meditation and awareness and although I found some meditations more difficult than others on the last week it all seemed to come together. Paul is a really good tutor and explained everything clearly and his friendly and open disposition made it so easy to ask questions. It was good being in a group situation and we all listened to and supported each other. Thanks Paul.

  • Week four of the course was the most illuminating for me; observing your thoughts without seeking to create them, analyse or judge them. One thought is replaced by another soon enough, and one will soon lead to another (the “daisy-chain effect”). And so we learn about the “natural energy of the mind” and with a little patience and practice, come to notice that we can exercise a split-second choice of whether to engage or act on the thought / worry that has presented itself. The course would appeal to those who find the book-theory difficult, or those who are particularly time-constrained. As Paul will explain to you, the benefit comes from the mindfulness experience itself and not from a study of theory, and the six-stage course is well designed to build your awareness and momentum to a level that you can continue on your own at the end of the course or with the benefit of monthly drop-in sessions. Thanks Paul, really enjoyed the course.

  • The course was very useful. I do feel more relaxed and focussed. One example is that I am a bit frightened of computers but after about week 4 I decided to plug in my new laptop and of course it was fine! It was good to have a different focus each week so you can work out what you particularly tune in to and what is helpful for your particular circumstances. I would thoroughly recommend the course and am going to the monthly refreshers.

  • The mindfulness course was a life-changer. It has helped me become more aware (mindful) of my own actions and reactions as well as being more tolerant and understanding of other people. It has brought a calm to me that I badly needed. The refresher classes are a great idea as it can be hard to continue practising without a little help. I would recommend it to anyone to give it a try, there’s nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

  • One hour a week to learn so much about coping in this busy world was so worth it. Mindfulness has helped me take a step back and THINK about how I approach and cope with situations, and how to relax and smile. Once you have learnt the basic skills you can adapt them into everyday life and I enjoy my little time out moments each day to take stock of my thoughts. Paul gives time to listen and teach well.

  • I recently completed a six-week mindfulness course with Debbie at the Living Well Centre. I found it to be very beneficial and it has helped with my anxiety and to be more in the moment. It is good that there are also drop-in sessions which I know will help me to remember what I have to practise. I was in a class with lovely people and I think everyone felt that they were able to talk to each other. Thanks again Debbie.

  • Fantastic course from a great teacher. The basics of mindfulness were explained and discussed in a way that made it easy to understand and approachable. Practicing with a friendly group was good for motivation as well. A great course for beginners and the more experienced.

  • I’ve been interested in mindfulness for the past few years and have attended short courses and read some material before but with this course something has shifted, partly due to the fact that I have practiced but also the way the course is delivered fits well with me. It’s been gentle but informative. I’ve had a really friendly group too. I know I will have to practice but this course has influenced my life in small ways on a day to day basis, thank you Debbie.

  • I found the course really beneficial. Paul was great and made us all feel very comfortable which is essential as you benefit from asking questions. Would recommend you give it time though, as I struggled at first. Paul will teach you a range of meditations so you’ll find one which suits you. Good luck x

  • I’d tried and failed a few times over the years to start doing regular meditation practice. This course helped me to make more of a go of things in a number of ways. The teacher, Paul, introduced a structured way to approach the practice and then worked each week to emphasise the importance of certain aspects. Along with hearing how other class members were getting on each week, the encouragement and reinforcing of ideas over a period of weeks by Paul helped me to stick at the practice, meaning I’m finally feeling like I’m on the road to making mindfulness practice a long-term part of my lifestyle.

  • I recently completed the six-week ‘foundations of mindfulness’ course on a one-to-one basis with Paul and am so glad that I did. The information was presented and delivered in a clear and accessible manner and I found the support and encouragement from such a knowledgeable source to be invaluable in helping me to start and continue my daily meditation practice. Through my daily practice, I can already notice some positive changes – I’m less caught up in my thoughts, there’s less rushing around on auto-pilot and less habitually reacting to people and situations. With mindfulness, I’m more aware and able to notice when this is happening – I can then pause, direct my attention to the present moment, observe what’s going on externally and internally and act from a calmer, more compassionate state of mind. Thanks Paul!

  • I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the six-week mindfulness course with Paul at the Florrie. I have never done anything like this before, and wasn’t really sure what to expect. It has given me a new insight into what might be possible for me, and I found it thoroughly refreshing and enjoyable. I hope to be able to explore mindfulness in more depth, and would highly recommend the course!

  • I very much enjoyed the course at the Florrie with Paul. I went on the course to help me cope with a chronic pain condition. It was good to be able to talk openly in the group and learn from other’s experiences too. I gained a lot from the course and it really helped my understanding of mindfulness and how to use it throughout the day, not just in meditation. Thank you to Paul.

  • I just wanted to say how helpful I found the 6 week course at the Florrie. It was a great introduction to the practice of mindfulness but was more than that as it provided an opportunity to discuss and also meditate together. The website has some very useful materials too. I feel well equipped to move on and also know that help is always on hand to learn more. The course is amazing value and the benefits of attending are beyond any monetary value.

  • I tried doing an online course but I felt unsure if I was doing it right and there wasn’t much help. It was alot easier in the class where it was explained much better and you can ask questions if you’re not sure. It all started to make sense then and I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. It was so much better than trying to do it on your own. Thanks, Jo x

  • I was a bit skeptical about how much difference it would make to my stress levels because I’ve been through a difficult time in my life, but I knew after a couple of weeks that I was starting to feel the benefit and that has continued since completing the course. I want to say thank you to everyone on the course for putting up with me and especially to Paul for his patience and guidance throughout. Thank you all. Peter
